Simulación de Plataformas Robóticas de Movimiento para Aplicaciones de Realidad Virtual Mediante Filtros Digitales

2017

A New HLA-Based Distributed Control Architecture for Agricultural Teams of Robots in Hybrid Applications with Real and Simulated Devices or Environme…

2011

The control architecture is one of the most important part of agricultural robotics and other robotic systems. Furthermore its importance increases when the system involves a group of heterogeneous robots that should cooperate to achieve a global goal. A new control architecture is introduced in this paper for groups of robots in charge of doing maintenance tasks in agricultural environments. Some important features such as scalability, code reuse, hardware abstraction and data distribution have been considered in the design of the new architecture. Furthermore, coordination and cooperation among the different elements in the system is allowed in the proposed control system. By integrating …

SITA/G - Description and simulation tools for public utility systems on IBM PC

1991

Abstract Simulation is a powerful and universal systems research tool for the analysis of discrete event model's functional quality. The simulation is used very widely in different areas of our everyday life. Simulation system SITA/G is produced in the Latvia University Research Institute of Mathematics and Computer Science. SITA/G softwares is proposed for using on IBM PC. SITA/G offers the facilities to describe, build and edit graphic programs by means of specification language SITA. Also the proposed system allows: 1) the visual demonstration of the simulation process of the graphic simulation programs; 2) obtaining of the probability characteristics of the systems under research. Requirements for using simulation to design and assess wireless ATM handover solutions

1999

Wireless ATM (WATM) has been widely considered as a solution for broadband wireless services. Handover is one of the most important mobility support functions in the WATM network. Many handover solutions have been proposed, analysed, and benchmarked. Simulations have been broadly used to assess these solutions. However, there are many dilemmas in how simulation has been applied as a research methodology: heterogeneous simulation systems used, lack of comparison with other related work, biased conclusions, and unavailability of simulation models and systems to researchers. The WATM research community lacks a standard and commonly acceptable methodology for applying simulation. To address thi…

Performance Management in Local Government: The Application of System Dynamics to Promote Data Use

2014

The purpose of this article is to demonstrate how system dynamics can be used to enrich performance management in local government, focusing specifically on how the development of conceptual and simulation system dynamic models can foster a shared view of the relevant system among stakeholders to overcome factors that limit data use. Responding to this purpose, we present a normative case study on how key drivers can be used to foster a shared view of the residential refuse collection system for supporting policy and process changes. A major finding from our research, however, is that performance management cannot overlook the broader forces of citizenship outcomes that impact the community.
